A Journey Tome:
Exploring painting, beading, embroidery, fabric collage &
crazy patch
2 Days/All levels
Gather your travel
memories and come prepared to have fun. Techniques learned:
Painting a scene and adding dimension with powders and mica
chips, bead embroidery, beaded fringe, fabric collage,
creating leaves and beads from Tyvek. |

Alchemy Treasures:
A Fabric Vessel
2 Days/All Levels
A vessel/box is created using various fibers and paints. The
box can be used to hold your special treasures, or photo's,
or a doll, or......Techniques learned: Fabric manipulation,
free motion machine work, painting and embossing on fabric,
face and figure painting and coloring, creating beads from
Tyvek and organza beads |

Creative Cloth Doll
Making
2 Days/All levels
Using my books each person
will create their own unique doll. Techniques learned:
Mixing and matching body parts; laying out of pattern pieces
for best results; Sewing tips for better hands and faces;
turning, wiring, stuffing & sculpting hands; drawing and
sculpting a face; direct dyeing a cloth body; coloring the
face with colored pencils. An optional 3rd day teaches
creating fabrics with Heat Transfer Paints; free motion
machine work to create clothing and shoes; beadwork |

Deowyn: A Study in Silks
3 Days/Intermediate to

An
18-inch all silk doll with jointed legs. Techniques
learned: Working with silk to create the body, direct
dyeing of body, stamping using Lumiere paints, creating
clothing with silk rods and waste, free motion machine work,
stitching and burning organza to create wings, simple beaded
edging and embellishments |

Facing Faces
1 Day/All levels
Learn a fail safe way of
creating the face you want. Using my skills as a portrait
artist I will show each person simple techniques that help
place features where they belong. This class is heavy in
design work. |

Missenderil of Rainbow Valley
3 Days/Intermediate to
Advanced
An
18-inch all silk doll. Techniques learned: Working with
silk to create a body, direct dyeing the body, wire armature,
using 2 types of silk dyes for the clothing, free motion
machine work, drawing and sculpting the face, water coloring
the face and simple peyote beadwork. |

Penny Pink Pocket
2 Days/All levels
A fun 16-inch
functional doll with compartments for sewing tools. Her lower skirt is
in two sections which hold pockets for sewing notions. A flower
pin-cushion and leaf shaped needle case are also part of her "ensemble".
Simple beadwork and silk ribbon embroidery add embellishments. The
class includes face drawing, sculpting and coloring. |

Portraits in threads
2 Days/All levels
Creating faces by machine is easy and fun. In this class
you'll make a panel that can be placed in a quilt, on a purse
or bag, in a journal, etc. Techniques learned: Drawing a
face for machine work, free motion machine embroidery,
working with Angelina, dyeing laces and trims, creating fun
shapes with Tyvek, simple beadwork. |

The cover
girl from my new book "Creative Cloth Doll Beading". An
18-inch
all cloth doll. Techniques learned: dyeing lace,
creating a whimsical face, stamping and bead embroidery,
beaded flowers. The two day class includes learning
three of the beaded flowers. The three day class includes
learning all of the beaded flowers. |
